Professional cladding cleaning across Melbourne
Cladding is designed to be the visible skin of a building, which means every mark on it is on show. It also means it’s the surface most easily ruined by cleaning it badly — panels dent, coatings scar, sealant lets go, and the damage costs far more than the clean ever did.
We’ve cleaned cladding across Melbourne since 2015, on homes, offices and strata buildings alike. Every cladding material behaves differently under pressure and chemical, so we identify what we’re working with before choosing a method rather than running one approach across the lot.
Cladding Materials We Clean
Six materials, six different failure modes. Identifying which one you have is the first thing we do.
Colorbond & Alucobond
Metal cladding streaks if the rinse is wrong and dents if the pressure is too close. Alucobond panel joints hold water, so the detail around them matters as much as the face.
Weatherboard & timber
High pressure strips paint at the laps and drives water in behind the boards. Low pressure and the right solution do the job without either.
Composite cement
Hard-wearing until the surface coating is scarred — after that the panel holds dirt faster than it did before it was cleaned.
Aluminium
Shows water spotting and streaking more than any other cladding, so how it’s rinsed and dried decides the finish.
Vinyl
Flexes under pressure and cracks at the fixing points if the wand gets too close. Chemistry does the work here, not force.
Brick
The brick takes pressure fine. The mortar joints don’t — too much and you blow out the pointing and turn a clean into a repointing job.
Commercial and Residential Cladding
A clad extension through to a full building envelope — method matched to the panel either way.
Commercial
Office buildings, warehouses, schools and strata blocks, where cladding is usually the single biggest visual element and often the biggest maintenance line. Height-safety certification, $20M public liability, SWMS and a completion report per visit. After-hours scheduling and multiple sites under one agreement.
Residential
Clad extensions, upper storeys, weatherboard homes and modern builds with mixed panel materials. We identify each material, choose pressure and chemistry to suit, and confirm a fixed price before we start.
Trusted By Leading Melbourne Businesses
We clean for schools, strata groups, retail chains and facilities managers right across Melbourne.
Why choose Exterior Clean Melbourne for cladding cleaning
The right method for the panel
Metal, vinyl, composite and timber all fail differently. We match the pressure and chemistry to the material rather than running one setup across the whole building.
We identify the material first
Modern buildings often mix cladding types across elevations. Working out what’s where before starting is what stops one approach damaging the section it wasn’t meant for.
Detail work by hand where it’s needed
Delicate sections and hard-to-reach areas get scrubbed or hand-wiped rather than blasted, so the whole elevation finishes evenly.
Fully licensed and insured
Exterior Clean Melbourne carries full public liability cover and our teams are height-safety certified. Documentation available on request.
Photos of what we found
Cleaning cladding puts us close to the panels, so we flag what we see — failed sealant, damaged sections, fixings working loose — in your completion report.
200% satisfaction guarantee
Not happy with the result? We’ll come back and make it right. Still not satisfied? We’ll offer up to a full refund.
Three Cladding Cleaning Methods
Most buildings need a combination. Which we use, and where, depends on the panel material and what’s marking it.
Pressure washing
High-pressure water to remove dirt, grime and contaminants. Particularly effective on metal and vinyl cladding, with the pressure and nozzle set to the panel.
Chemical cleaning
Specialised solutions that break down dirt and contaminants where water alone won’t shift them. Particularly effective on stubborn stains and marks.
Manual cleaning
Scrubbing or hand wiping for delicate sections and hard-to-reach areas, so the cladding is cleaned thoroughly without damage.
How Our Cladding Cleaning Works
Identify the material, match the method, protect the panel.
Assessment and fixed quote
We identify the cladding materials, height and access, then lock in a fixed price. Free quotes, no hidden costs.
Method matched to each material
Pressure, chemical, manual — or a combination. On buildings with mixed cladding we set a different approach for each section.
Protection and preparation
Landscaping, signage and fixtures covered, and access and scheduling confirmed so disruption is kept to a minimum.
The clean
A height-safety certified team working methodically across each elevation, with delicate and hard-to-reach areas done by hand.
Final inspection and photos
We walk the job with you or send before-and-after photos, and flag anything we noticed up close — failed sealant, damaged panels, loose fixings.

Cladding cleaning FAQs
Will cleaning damage my cladding?
Not with the right method — but the wrong one will, and cladding is unforgiving. Too much pressure dents metal, cracks vinyl at the fixings, strips paint from weatherboard and scars composite panels. We identify the material before we start and set pressure and chemistry accordingly.
What cladding materials do you clean?
Colorbond and Alucobond, weatherboard and timber, composite cement, aluminium, vinyl and brick cladding. Many buildings mix several across different elevations, and each section is treated on its own terms.
What if my building has more than one cladding type?
That’s common on modern builds, and it’s exactly why we assess first. We set a different method for each material rather than running one approach across the whole envelope.
How often should cladding be cleaned?
Annually suits most Melbourne buildings. More often on busy roads where traffic film builds quickly, and on shaded or south-facing elevations where mould and algae establish faster.
Will you disrupt our business while you work?
We keep disruption minimal and schedule around you. For retail and occupied commercial buildings we regularly work outside trading hours.
Can you reach upper-storey cladding?
Yes. Our teams are working-at-heights certified and reach up to seven storeys on carbon fibre poles, so most buildings don’t need scaffolding or a cherry picker.
Do you provide SWMS and insurance documentation?
Yes. Every commercial job comes with a Safe Work Method Statement, and we can supply certificates of currency for our $20M public liability and WorkCover on request.
Do you service multiple sites or ongoing contracts?
We do. We hold regular contracts with strata groups, facilities managers, and NDIS and aged care providers across Melbourne — scheduled maintenance rather than one-off cleans.
How do I get a quote?
Upload a few photos of your building through our instant quote tool and you’ll have a price in minutes. Or call us on (03) 7047 5789 and we’ll sort it out directly.
